An ABA Technician is a behavior technician who works with Doctors, nurses, and other health professionals for providing care to patients suffering from a variety of behavioral conditions. The job description and duties are listed on the ABA Technician Resume as – implementing treatment plans and working one-on-one with patients at schools, mental health facilities, or a patient’s home; providing direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group therapy setting, implementing skills acquisition and behavior reduction treatments, collecting and recording data on patient behavior; collaborating and communicating and assisting with the training of clients, and parents and staff; carrying out assessments and other administrative duties; maintaining strict confidentiality; and attending training to acquire further knowledge.
To be successful in this role, the technician should possess the following skills – a compassionate nature, empathy, and discretion in the work. Other skills that can help gain employment include – the ability to develop and maintain a relationship with clients, supervisors, and colleagues; prior work experience, physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry patients; strong interpersonal skills; and computer skills. A Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field is commonplace among job applicants.
