A desk assistant performs a variety of duties including the receptionist and clerical duties. The highlighting responsibilities shouldered by the desk assistants include – greeting and welcoming the guests, keeping the desk equipped with essentials like pen, forms, papers, stationeries etc, answering and addressing complaints, receiving incoming calls, routing them to concerned department or noting messages, receiving parcels, letters and distributing it, preparing outgoing Mails, securing parcels, checking and sorting emails, monitoring office supplies and placing orders, updating files and records, monitoring expenditures and costs and taking up other duties like arranging travel tickets and schedules.
The ideal candidate willing to take up this job role will have to be friendly, perceptive, disciplined and give correction information. The other requirements include familiarity with office machines, basic bookkeeping and MS Office skills, proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
