A Harness Assembler is responsible for tying and routing wires for electrical equipment and systems. The job description includes determining the harness specifications such as wire length, securing knots, protecting cables, and other elements that may cause damage to the wiring. Other daily accountabilities are listed on the Harness Assembler Resume as – determining the materials needed and sequence of assembly, selecting wires of the specified color, marking or length, and loops wires, wrapping and tying together at designated points; applying liquid to secure knots in ties, attaching ends of wires to components, plugs, and terminal strip; and protecting the cable from dust and moisture.
The nature of the job demands such skills as – experience with wiring and soldering; familiarity with automated testing tools; knowledge of color codes and wire size, knowledge of crimping cables and dressing out wire harness, and the ability to understand technical interpretations.
