A Historian is an academic researcher who will basically study events of the past. The job description and duties include the following – obtaining historical data from various sources like archives, libraries, and artifacts; determining the authenticity of the historical data, and undertaking to teach and researching tasks at Universities. The Historian Resume gives a list of the following duties – determining the significance of the historical data, teaching students, translating historical documents; researching historical development of countries, cities, empires, and tribes; and contributing to academic journals; and partaking in public exhibits.

The most common qualifications indicated on resumes include – experience in research positions, outstanding attention to details, strong researching skills, familiarity, and knowledge of various languages, communities, and countries. In addition, the person should have a strong background and passion for history. Although a Master’s qualification is the minimum requirement, some positions require a doctoral degree.
