The Pantry Cook will prepare a variety of food items in the cold kitchen. The food items may include preparing salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Under the direct supervision of a Sous Chef, these cooks execute all the tasks that are mentioned on the Pantry Cook Resume – measuring and mixing ingredients as per the recipe, using a variety of professional kitchen equipment and utensils such as mixers, grinders, slicers and tenderizers; washing, peeling and craving vegetables and fruits; ensuring all kitchen items are clean and sterilized; ordering and stocking the food needed at cold kitchen; and making sure cold items like butter and spreads are sent along with food orders.
Not all cooks perform the same duties, but the required skills are common and include – knowledge of food safety and standards; staying current with culinary trends and the latest techniques; familiarity with cutting and knife skills. As this is an entry-level position, employers don’t want anything beyond a high school diploma.
