The major task of a Scanning clerk is to charge of producing digital copies of various documents for the purpose of retention. On a day-to-day basis, the clerk will carry out all the tasks that are mentioned on the Scanning Clerk Resume – organizing and scanning documents on various network or storage devices, preparing the document for scanning, scanning and converting the document into digital format, compiling all scanned documents, scanning and managing all administrative files, and performing all clerical duties related to scanning and retrieval of records or work files.
Even though the job may be repetitive in nature, the Scanning Clerks are expected to possess these abilities – efficiency in performing repetitive tasks, familiarity with scanning equipment, physical fitness, operational knowledge of document scanning equipment and digital filing systems and the ability to handle minor repairs. A high school diploma or a GED is required for this job; further education will be needed to get promotions or to move up within the organization.
