A Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor is tasked with the duty of assisting the clients who are facing long-term mental and emotional problems; isolated issues and other problems. Duties relevant to this role are found on the Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor Resume as – providing individual therapy and couple’s therapy to adults facing mental illness, addiction problems, and psychosocial stressors; providing mental health support using discussion-based and curriculum models; and providing intensive school-based counseling to school students, and assisting with all program activities.
To become one, the following skills and abilities are needed – mastery in clinical documentation, strong knowledge of the ins and outs of child protective services; superior communication skills, Medicaid familiarity, certification in First aid and CPR, and expertise in dealing with suicide attempts cases. Most of these counselors possess a Master’s degree in relevant fields.
